Did Pac ever have a bad verse?

#24
everybody's had bad verses... but i like all of pac's verses. now his beat selections could have been better at times, but his content was always good. his flow was always good. it was his rhyme scheme that makes some of his verses tend to come off as "bad", because he's very repetitive with rhyme schemes - "thug nigga, drug dealer" and "westside/ride/...homies died" - things of that nature. you can hear a 2pac verse and relate it it to 10 other verses with just the words he chooses to use and describe himself. during his makaveli period, he began to transform and extensify his vocabulary and his work became overly impressive. just listen to "my own style" and "comradez" - those two tracks - you can tell pac had been stepping his game up.

to be honest, i dont think so. Even if a song had a horrible beat or other rappers sounded like shit, pac's verses always stood out. He always had something to say. I can listen to any verse from him

Nope, me too. Love that track. The phone conversation part is hilarious ("Does a bear shit in the woods and wipe his ass with a fluffy white rabbit?")

I think most people are criticizing the type of song, as compared to whether it's good or not. They don't wanna hear Pac rappin about certain things, or see him as being soft (Tongue Kissin,Neva Call U Bitch, etc.) I never felt those songs make him less a thug than before, I think it just shows his range.

i thought the song was funky. i've always liked it. the beat is ill. the lyrics are tight. I think most of the people that dont like it are probably the people with NO GAME!

The ppl who are saying pac never had a bad verse are just saying that because it's 2pac and like many ppl have said be4: Every rapper has some bad verses.
Think about it, when you're saying 2pac never had a bad verse that means you think ALL of his verses were good/average and that's just not true. Even the best artist in other forms of art (painting, dancing etc.) have some bad work. You can name tens of good artists in the music world that are the best in what they do, for example Michael Jackson but even he got a bad verse sometimes so 2pac is no exception.

ever since i was an itty bitty kitty drinking liqure out my mommas titty....
that line right there is a damn classic

"I hopin you don't take this the wrong way
But your body is bangin got me attracted in a strong way
After a long day of tryin to make my songs pay
Makin love all day against the wall in the hallway"

i chose this passage from thug passion(good song) not because it was bad but because it annoys me sometimes with the amount of "ay's" in it. it doesn't really sound like pac that part of the song

I do recall listening to one verse I don't know what song it is right now could be off UTEOT where Pac stumbles upon a word, like he says it too early for the verse then repeats it straight after where it seems to fit.

Anyone else noticed this?

That's actually "Ratha Be Ya Nigga".... I'm sure u kno that tho.. but anyhow I love that part of the song.. the rhyme structure is ill... wrong way, strong way, long day, songs pay, wall in the hallway... u cant front.

An to the dudes dissin the "Thug Luv" verse.... WTF U SMOKIN?? Shit is so ill I can't even speak on it.. Loooove that verse.

I think Pac dropped his worst verses in his ThugLife era... like '92-'94... and only on other people's shit. He did a slew of guest appearances in that time and a lot (altho none i can remember now) weren't anything special.

Also, his verse on "Fade Me" is pretty weak, IMO.. altho I just dont like that song at all.
