BET's "American Gangster" Returns, Tupac's Stepfather To Play One Of The Criminals

Narrated by actor Ving Rhames, this year's series will feature in-depth looks at the lives of well-known felons including "Monster" Kody, Larry Davis, J. Edgar Hoover plus Mutulu Shakur who was the stepfather to the late rap star Tupac Shakur.

Focused on expanding viewers perceptions of the glorified "gangster" often portrayed in films and television, the series returns after two popular seasons that included inside looks at iconic drug dealers Ricky Ross, Nicky Barnes and Frank Lucas whom the film American Gangster was based upon.

The show's season premiere begins Thursday (October 23) at 10 PM EST.
