In one of your posts in the Sarah Palin thread you said her children had Eskimo names. Their children are named "Track", "Trig", "Bristol", "Willow", and "Piper".

Linguistically, these names are NOT Eskimo. You claimed they were, I thought you were stupid.

Who gives a hoot about the father? His mother is only a quarter Eskimo, which makes him an eighth. Which makes his kids a sixteenth. I'm so amazed about the rich heritage there. Now, if these one/sixteenth Eskimo children are given simple Anglosaxon names, their names are not "Eskimo". I don't even the specific relevance of "Bristol" in this. Is Bristol lake signicifant for the Eskimo's or a specific tribe? Maybe. Maybe the greater shrine of the Eskimo God was there. The name self is still English.

I never disputed that the child Bristol was named after the Lake Bristol. You didn't understand I was making a point about the Eskimo names, rather than how or after what those kids were named. It doesn't matter what she was named after, the name itself isn't Eskimo.

"Bristol" is still an English word. What's your point? If I call my son "Cologne" he doesn't have a German name, since that'd be "Koln".

Bristol is a place in England, a Willow is a tree and lord knows what "piper" means, but it sure as hell isn't actual "Eskimo speak". "Kirima" would be an Eskimo name. Even if her husband is the emperor of all the Eskimo's, "Willow" and "Bristol" is as much Eskimo as "rampaging slaughter" is Hungarian.
