Looks like part of the turbo system or the manifold or something. In other words, not a cheap fix.

Yea when he sent me the pictures he told me the name of the part was turbo actually lol. But I want to know exact name like turbo what? So I can look it up online or go to the dealer and ask for this part.
But I guess if I just tell the dealer the make, the model and the year and tell him the name of part is turbo he'll know which part I'm talking about?

Most likely, yes. The information should also be in the car's manuals and booklets. Internet has the info as well if you know the year it's built. Passat 1.8 Turbo, right?
According to the net the standard charger is a KKK(manufacturer)-K03(turbo type).

If that's the turbo, then it's small as hell. I knew it was the exhaust manifold and turbo, but I thought it was way to small to be the turbo.

Is he in a foreign country? I don't think shopping for foreign car parts in America is the wisest choice, lol. Are you going to ship it to him?

I think it's the bit that sits after the charger. Like the turbocharger manifold, if such a thing exists.
And yeah, Deez, c'mon, man, it's a max. 170 hp commuter car. That thing isn't sporting massive turbines. :p

Yea he is in foreign country and I'm going to ship to him there. Apparently its hard to find parts in where he is because they don't have Volkswagen dealerships there. He doesn't have anybody to find him that part in Europe or something, so he contacted me here in states.
Plus, I myself bought him that car here in states and shipped it to him there. But when we found that car here, we were in rush and didn't really looked well to see if there was something wrong with the car. We couldn't have a mechanic look at it. So I want to find him this part and send it to him.
