Cooking Frozen Food ...
... in the microwave first, does anyone else do it besides me?
putting food into a cold oven is bad enough and is not good cooking practice, so before you start cooking it is best practice to wait while the oven gets hot, which is all good if you've got time to prepare your food while you're waiting for the oven to heat up. not good if you are quick, impatient, and restless as me, who just wants to get food on the plate as quick as possible, and eat it. which is why i heat it up slightly or defrost it in the microwave before putting it to cook in the oven or pan. using this method a pizza will cook in the same time it takes to hard boil an egg, using microwaves can shave 50% off cooking time and still end up with an oven cooked quality dish. food like chips and burgers, and the aforementioned pizza, this thread could be titled how to cheat at cooking, boiled new potatoes take five minutes if you put just enough boiling water straight onto them, compared to 15mins on the stove. be suspicious if you order a well done fillet steak in a restaurant and get it within half an hour

Only with frozen pizza's. I keep my kale nice and frosty, but that's how it should be. I also keep meat in the freezer, but obviously that gets defrosted before I start preparing that.
I never tried the boiling tatties trick, though.

i like to confuse people in the kitchen, like i would call microwaves 'ovens' - some dumb waiter once asked me why do i call a microwave an oven, because its a microwave oven lol

Yeshua the Cook, I got some chicken titties in the fridge and I gotta use em. I was wondering what were some good dishes to make that were relatively easy with chicken. Perhaps just chicken alone, but then I'd need a marinade recipe.
Your thoughts?

I don't get why people pre-heat their ovens for frozen pizza. I see this all the time and it annoys me. They put the oven on, let it pre-heat for 5 minutes, then the pizza takes 15-20 minutes to make depending on what type of pizza it is. When I put the pizza in right away, it takes 20 minutes. There's no actual difference, waiting just takes more time. It's not like the few minutes of temperature lower than 200 degrees makes the pizza go bad. It's such fucking stupidity. It's like warming butter in a frying pan, letting the pan cool off entirely, and then re-heating it before making eggs. It's nonsensical.
Yoshi the Cock, please explain why I should pre-heat the oven. Really, tell me what physical differences there will be in my pizza from using both the methods I described. Don't give me any smug jokes or I'll do terrible things to you.
