Well, needless 2 say, I think you're a hopeless case.
But let's give it a try..... like Puff said, esp. if you say you don't have a lot of time to work out, the diet has a lot to do with it.
So, yes, cuttin down on soda is a big part of it. I drink more Cola with Vodka then without it. Seriously. Often go weeks without soda, ain't that hard. Try 2 find a place where they sell apple juice and stuff like that, there are plenty of alternatives. Cuttin down on fast food would be a good idea too.... dunno how many times you go to a fast food place but less would help your cause. Needless 2 say I personally go 2 MC or Burgerking or whatever like once a year.
About workin out..... needless to say that if you only do pushups and crunches, it's different than if you hit the gym, your progress won't be anywhere close to someone that truley works out, however, it will help and is better than nothing. A third exercice that you might be able 2 do somewhere at home and that might help a lot are pull-ups. (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pull-up_(exercise) ) - look in your local sport store for a bar, there are some that you can easly set up in a door frame.
Push ups are nice, but mix them up. Besides 'normal' push ups, you can also put your legs/feet on a chair.... or use 2 chairs and make them inbetween to chairs, grappin the elbow-rest with your hands. You'll feel the difference. 2 mix it up is important for your body and your mind, keeps it intersting.
However, I'm against workin out every day. I rather say work out 4 times a week, but if you work out, really work out. 25 push ups are nothing. Rather do a couple of sets, you really gotta work out. So 3* 25 push ups, crunches inbetween and afterwards 3 sets or pull ups rather sounds like a work out. And of course you gotta aim for more as you are gettin in shape, that's the whole point of it.....
