^^we've played 3 champions league semi finals under Benitez. All against Chelsea. we won 2 and lost the other after extra time. In the game we lost, the home leg finished 1-1 after Riise inexplicably kicked the ball into his own net at the end of the match. so i dont know what you are talking about lol

Here's my point...
In that game against Chelsea, that went to ET, he didn't have the balls to throw in an extra forward until we were down... It's just when Lampard scored from the PK, that he decided to play with 3 forwards. He's always been a coach that took decisions by reacting to what the other coach did... Never have I seen him take control of the situation AGAINST BIG TEAMS, he's scared of that (now if you throw me an example where he put in N'Gog against Hull City in the 75th minute to kill them off, I'm going to travel to your village and slap you in the face). That's what I'm talking about.
Is that enough for you dude? Also, you know me, and you know that I know 'Pool and football, but my hate for Benitez' decisions makes me not want to talk about him, hence I don't always explain what I'm talking about
Sidenote: fuck you Sebastian, you think that Ballack is one of the best players on the planet and you think that Bayern will go far in the CL... Enough said about your footy knowledge.

I think we can conclude that Benitez is strategically very good but tactically no so brilliant. He's a builder. Maybe better suited as Technical Director.

While the first part about Ballack is really my point of view (Top20), i cant recall to have said that Munich will go far this year. Actually, they will struggle to get out of the group (i mean they already do) and will lose against any big team by a landslide.

so you are saying that when the score is level against Chelsea at the start of extra time, he should have switched to 3 up front even though they were doing ok up to this point? thats just ridiculous. No manager would do that lol. first of all we didnt have the players to play that formation and then who would you substitute for the extra forwards. Most likely one of the central midfield players which were Alonso and Mascherano. A move like that would give the likes of Lampard and Ballack a free reign in central midfield and they would hurt you if given space and time. A move like that just wouldnt work. Liverpool might get a goal but its likely they'd concede more. Look at las
Liverpool would have won the game if Riise didnt kick the ball into his own net at the end of the first leg. There would have been no extra time.

You don't seem to understand what I'm saying and I'll leave it at that... I'll chat it out with you on Facebook...
I just think that he has no guts that's all... Also, what Duke said.
Also, where did I say that he should take out a Midfielder? I was talking about going all in... take out a defender and throw in a 3rd attacker, fuck it, go for the win, not the draw... No wonder we had 50 draws last year at home...

i did understand what you were saying.
You were talking about the game against chelsea. The one that went to extra time in 2008. The score was 2-2 at full time with an away goal each so it went to extra time. You are criticising Benitez for not going out 3 attackers in the extra time but instead waiting until Chelsea went ahead to do so. Thats what my reponse was to that. another thing i forgot to mention is player fatigue. taking off midfielders or defenders and replacing them with attackers when there is no need to is not gonna help in that respect. If you leave yourself short a defender or a central midfielder against a team like Chelsea, they will do damage. No top manager would do what you are critising Benitez for not doing in that game .
But i agree with your other point, he should have been more positive last season in those games that we drew against the likes of Wigan and West Ham.

No top manager would do that??? Go tell that to Mourinho, Ferguson, Hiddink(especially him) and Felix Magath... They have the guts to kill off opposition.
I have to clarify my point though mate... I used that 2008 match as an example of his negative attitude. It went to ET of course, everyone was tired, etc. I understand... It's just an example of his negative attitude...

Benitez is not good at crunch time decisions and ballsy calls.
