Lil Wayne is taking this rock star image a little far.

Weezy's protege Drake recently told MuchMusic in an interview that Wayne was preparing an album that was as much a departure from what he had previously done as Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreaks, but that it would be a rock album and not an R&B album.

It sure that auto tune will sound right on a rock track, but as long as it's his fuck up and not mine, im fine with it

This might be the fuckup that he needs to fall off... because most stuff that he does is VERY well-received.

Lot of hip-hop heads aren't stuck in the "one genre" trap anymore, but if they want to listen to rock, they know which bands and singers to turn to. On the other hand, the "rock" crowd and the general "non hip-hop" crowd WON'T listen to Wayne to get their dose of rock music. My personal opinion, anyway.

Kanye's album works well with different audiences because, at the end of the day, it's pop-sounding. Also, Kanye is a musical genius, no matter what people say. Rock music is different and Lil Wayne is a lot of things (awesome flow, charisma, unique way of saying things which you can call lyricism), but he's not a musician per se.
