That situation kind of sucks. This may sound silly but perhaps you two should do certain aspects of your relationship like a business agreement. My boyfriend and I know that when we go out, whomever suggests the activity... pays for it. The only way this changes is if the other person for some reason volunteers to pay for the activity. This is allowed, however, does not overwrite the initial agreement. So no one can go back and say I paid last time, I don't pay this time if they volunteered to pay in the first place. If that makes sense.
Also, maybe talk to her about comparing your relationship to he friends. I used to do this and I know a lot of girls who stil do it. It's simply asking for trouble. It causes huge issues in the relationship that don't need to be there. I don't even ask my friends for advice concerning my relationship anymore. How can they advise me on what to do with MY boyfriend. If I can't figure it out and I love them, they surely won't know as they don't even know him. |

I feel bad for your girlfriend. The man is supposed to pay for dinner, and the movies, always.
Furthermore she's struggling financially and you put her in surprise situations that impact her budget, and of course she can't say no she loves you and wants to go. In my opinion not only should you have paid for dinner and the movies, but in this situation you should have said "baby don't stress, I'll help pay for your school pants aswell." I don't know, that just seems like the thing you do when you love a girl and she's struggling financially and you're well off. |

The thing is, she is not really struggling. She just aint got much money. Right now, i might have more money in my pockets, but, i want (or i have to) buy a car around may, june next year. So im already saving up for paying the car (which i need for work)... Again, its not even about who pays for what...its about getting upset about such stupid things. There is no way im gonna accept such a behaviour. She (and me too, of course) should be happy and thankful for what we have, instead of complaining about shit like that. And not to get a wrong impression, she is great! There are just some things where i think shes still on the wrong way. |

Fuck that "the man has to pay for everything" ideology.
The problem here is that once you accustom a girl to a certain way of life, it is hard to lower it. |

I don't necessarily agree with the man paying for everything ideology either, but hell, if the man is working and the woman isn't, then fuck yeah the man should be paying, and vice versa.
Me and my wife both work so we just split everything. We've never once argued about who pays for what. |
