My week including pictures....YAY

Well, last Thursday it was the UK AsianMusicAwards at the Royal Festival Hall in London where we were nominated for 3 awards and ended up winning one - Best Producer. Everybody was surprised we didn't take home Best Album as well, people suggest that there were politics involved due to us declining to perform, whether thats true or not I have no idea but it's no big deal.
Had extra tickets so invited a connect I have who works for MySpace in order to talk business about getting a feature for the new video.
Anyway here's me and my sexy new bandmate with the award.
It was fun going up on the stage and collecting the award, but my real highlight was catching up with a friend I haven't seen in a while....she is a major Hollywood movie director and you all would almost certainly have seen or heard of at least one of her movies. But I digress...
on Friday I chilled at home and wrote some lyrics.
On Saturday, myself and my cousin did a DJ/MC set at Club Air in Birmingham. It was rammed out and was good fun. Those kinds of shows remind of back in the day before we formed the band as those are the kinds of gigs we would do all the time! Had to bounce early cos of video shoot on Sunday.
Sunday morning I get up early and pack for the video shoot. At the last minute I realise we don't have any litter tray liners for the cat, so the missus sends me down to the shops. The pet store is closed, so I go to the newsagent and grab binliners instead. I also grab the new issue of XXL and a Relentless energy drink. As I exit the shop I feel a bit light-headed (maybe cos I just walked down to the shops on an empty stomach?), so I decide to cross the road and go to another newsagent to grab a snack. As I look up, I see in the window of the shop......a MASSIVE poster with my name on it advertising the previous nights gig.
I then head home, change the kitty litter and me and my missus head out to meet my cousin as we are hitching a lift with him to the video shoot in London.
We get to the set around 2.30pm and are filming until 11.30 ish....very hot in there! It's all green-screen for CGI and the directors show us some renderings they've been working on. Don't wanna give the game away too early so I'm not going to reveal the concept to you but they looked SICK. Here's a few shots from the shoot.

Monday morning - got up early and caught the train back to Birmingham, but didnt get back till later than we should have because of train delays due to the shitty weather we've been having here in the UK. Used the time on the train to compile a list of songs on my new Sidekick Slide - we are hosting a big radio show tomorrow night (Thursday) and so had to pick some songs. It's gonna be good.
Tuesday - worked on some music for an non-band related project. Getting paid some serious scrilla for it.
Wednesday - went through 100+ photos from the video shoot and picked some good ones to put on the site. Chilled out and brainstormed interesting shit to talk about on the radio tomorrow.
And there we have it.

While I'll fully admit that that does sound like something I would do, lol, that wasn't my intention this time.
And if you buy 100 copies of our album I may let you get within 10 feet of her. But no closer. LOL. At the awards this rapper I know started trying to hit on her, I walked up and he backed off once he realized that she was with me. A couple of other similar incidents too......I told our manager we're gonna need some security......we're already getting a barrage of stalker-ish emails addressed to her on our band myspace account....some people seriously have no shame. |
