Prince is a genius
I just been looking for Prince's 'Gold' on limewire and couldn't find it anywhere. Then I realised why ... he changed his name to 'symbol.' I can't search no 'symbol' cause I don't have the symbol on my keyboard.
That's one hell of a way to get around music copyrite!
Edit: sorry, meant to post in Don't Stop The Music.

Not sure if this was a hint, or not.
If so, here you go:

Gold is an amazing track. One of the best tracks from his 1995 classic " The Gold Experience", which is probably his best work of the 90's. I'm glad I have the album as it's now out of print and hard to find. If you see it in a store, grab it!

It wasn't intended to be a hint, although I know what you mean. I was just reminiscing with and about me being back in high school, brought on by memories of friends on facebook. I used to have the CD single when it came out. I took it to a form class party with me and it got played. No booze or cigarettes, it was just a free period where we got to do what we wanted and play what music we wanted too. I was the one who brought in that song. That's the main memory I have of it, and why I have been looking for it. I don't have the original anymore, wish I did. It is a great song. My favourite of Prince's.

Also, I thought that Prince had discovered a way to sidestep music copyrite. Weather it was intentional or not. It is ingenius. Call me a symbol.

No, that wasn't the intention of the symbol. Although that theory was popular at the time.
I have the "Gold" single. Do you remember the B-Side? A funky jam called "Rock N Roll Is Alive (and it Lives in Minneapolis)". Great track. P was defo on fire during this period.

I remember the cd was in a cardboard like case, not the usual plastic like ones. All gold covered with the Symbol on the front. It was over ten years ago since I remember owning it, if I heard the B side again I'm sure I would remember it.

There was a few versions, this one:
This one:
And I believe there was a card sleeve version also.
Also some versions had an edited version of 'Eye Hate U' from the same album, on there.
Here's the track 'Rock & Roll Is Alive (and it lives in Minneapolis)'.

I had the card sleeve version with that cover ^
I don't remember the B side, I remember I just bought the single for the Gold track.
Prince rocks. It surprises me that he can play so many instruments. I worked with someone who is a musician himself and he was a roadie for Prince at the O2 arena just last year. I seen the show on TV, spectacular!
