I change my mind. You can't be friends with someone you're attracted to.

LOL, i've always said it's almost impossible for people of the opposite sex to be good friends if they're physically attracted to each other. Now an ugly guy... i'd be his best friend all day, lol.

of course you can't be friends with someone you're attracted to. however, if a guy and a girl have a platonic relationship, the friendship can be great.

That's a rule that shouldn't be broken. Sometimes when girls I don't find attractive want to "lets be at least friends" I always have to find a way to peacefully say no.
A year or so ago I agreed and then I regreted it seriously. It just gets harder to decline that person then because "we're friends now".

as for the topic, i agree but disagree for the same reason: i had a long lasting friendship with a girl i was hopelessly in love with when i was younger. not that it wasn't hard, especially since i knew she didn't feel the same as me, but i was able to keep my feelings in check and we were not only friends but very close friends for several years. so disagree that it can't be done but i certainly wouldn't recommend it as it was quite hard for me at times to keep my feelings for her in check, especially when she was dating friends of mine.
