Kind of an Experiment

I've been doing this experiment for awhile now and I guess I didn't even realize I was doing it until just recently. And it really works quite badly as an experiment because I gained no real knowledge. But it was something I was doing subconsciously and I found that I got one of three different reactions.

Whenever I was walking by an attractive girl that I didn't know, I would look straight into her eyes until she was out of my field of vision. I suppose to kind of let her know that I was noticing her, that I was interested.

But this really didn't become a conscious thing until just recently, it was just a habit I had gotten into.

I think I've been doing this for at least six months, so that's a shitload of women. I always got one of three reactions:

A slight majority of the time, maybe 55% the girl would not look at me at all. She would just keep walking.

Another huge chunk of the time, about 40% of the time, the girl would look into my eyes briefly and turn away as she passed.

And very rarely, maybe 5% of the time, the girl would look straight at me and hold the stare for so long that I would be forced to turn away because I felt a little uncomfortable.

Anyway, what does all of this mean? Well, I don't think it really means much of anything. You could argue that the 55% weren't interested because they didn't look at me and the 5% were interested because they stared back. But you could also argue that a good portion of that 55% were just shy, not in a good mood, oblivious to me looking at them.

Anyway, I just thought this was interesting. And really, if you read this and you don't care, there's no need for you to reply to this thread.

45% of the time - noticed you staring. if she doesn't look back and do the double take, shes not interested.

5% - knows you're staring. feels put off by it. so stares back which is kind of saying "what the fuck are you looking at"

He subconsciously stared at women all the time. Soon as he noticed he was doing it, presumably he stopped. It's like when you subconsciously scratch your ass or pick your nose. You didn't know you were doing it until you did it.

^lol i'm not sure what you're saying in your post. it could be that i just woke up and i'm hungover and my mind is hardly working. are you suggesting that this wasn't subconscious?
