Okay,
lets say you love two people. For some odd reason, you have swords in the house.
Your married spouse comes in and confronts your lover. they get into a sword fight, and the married spouse dies.
your son/daughter comes in and challenges the person to a sword fight.
Then you scream, "i am going to lose them both."
Who are you more concerned for?
The 2nd lover, or your son/daughter?
