This just landed in my inbox with absolutely no information. If it’s an indie film then cool, but if it’s the feature film we’ve heard rumored for years now… I’d be a little disappointed. If you have any information about the project(s), drop us a line to clear it up.
Hey guys, I thought I’d drop you a personal line. You may not know me, but I’m actually the founder of StreetHop.com, and while I don’t blog much anymore, I have been involved in the recent upgrades and continue to finance the site and forum and organize things behind the scenes.
The reason I haven’t been posting, is simply because I haven’t had the time to. I’ve been busy recording an album, as well as music with my band Take Vienna. Yes, the reason for this post is shameless self promotion, but I figure I deserve it after over a decade, so there! We’ve actually just released our debut EP on iTunes, and I’d like to invite you all to check it out. It’s different. It’s a fresh take on Hip-Hop. And it’s good. No Benzino here. No 5 star reviews, no ramming the project down your throats, just a link, and then it’s straight back to regular programming.

PS. Enjoy the new cleaner layout, lots more upgrades coming next year. I am a firm believer that the success of on project builds the momentum and success of everything else, so believe me, 2012 will be a great year for StreetHop.com as everything else I am involved with.

Here’s a new video from the big homie E.D.I. Mean from the Outlawz directed by James Wade. Perfect Timing out soon.
I just got word that Nate Dogg passed away. I was always a huge fan of Nate and the majority of his catalog plays a huge part in the soundtrack for my life and so this news is so tragic. Nate’s been ill for a number of years after suffering a stroke in 2007.
Nate shaped the landscape of blending R&B with Hip-Hop, he was a pioneer and a legend and I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say WE WILL MISS YOU NATE!
Drop your favorite Nate Dogg songs in the comments below and lets honor this music legend!
Don’t call it a come back but we are. Wow, almost twenty days of down time. Basically what happened is New Years Eve our system had a major crash, and being that time of year tech support wasn’t around to save the hardware. The hard drive in our dedicated server completely died and data recovery took about two weeks, then we had to restore what couldn’t be recovered.
But the good news is we’re back on a bigger and better server and ready to finally get 2011 underway.
Over the next couple of days we’ll try to catch up the most important stories we’ve missed and stay up to date with new ones. Make sure as always to visit our FORUM as members there try to catch up on everything as well.
Happy 2011! It’s good to be here.
Well, we’ve taken a couple of days off over the holidays, kind of a hangover fueled hiatus honestly, but behind the scenes we’ve been pulling at those 2011 strings.
Rahim Kara for example has put together this insightful interview with Sam Sneed that we’re sure all of Sneed’s, as well as Death Row’s, fans will get a huge kick out of…
When Caesar and I first discussed the idea of doing an Unsigned Hype section, what has now become StreetHype, I made it a point that I wanted to go above and beyond simply showcasing only rappers. I believe that Hip-Hop is a culture and more than just music. So while we will showcase rappers in the future, I wanted to start by putting the spotlight on a personal friend of mine who I think not only embodies the ideas behind both StreetHop and StreetHype, but who really deserves and needs it at this time in his life.
So with that, StreetHop.com’s first StreetHype is about James Wade aka The World Famous James Wade.
If you’re out in Rhode Island make sure to head down to the Acme Lounge tonight from 9PM. StreetHop.com Capo DJ Tek will be celebrating his birthday so make sure to buy him as many drinks as it takes to knock him on his ass. Details on the poster below, click for full size.
