Posts about Method Man
Universal/Vivendi are releasing Big Pun: The Legacy, a documentary film about the late great Big Pun, on September 15th. Check out the trailer below.
The film will feature Hip-Hop stars as well as his family and friends talking about Big Pun’s life, his music and impact on rap music. Features include Cuban Link, Method Man, DMX, Raekwon, Snoop Dogg, Ghostface Killah, Redman, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Chuck D, Papoose, Cypress Hill, Xzibit, Mobb Deep and more.
Song Legacy will be putting out a new Big Pun CD to go along with it, no word yet as to whether it will be a greatest hits type disc, a tribute, or if it will feature some unreleased music.

Before we get into it, this is all speculation based on some inside rumors based on observations based on the past week. Ok? Good.
From what I am hearing, things aren’t all good in the Slaughterhouse camp right now. The main situation is this beef with Wu-Tang, most notably Inspectah Deck and now Raekwon [click here]. All the Wu members involved have publicly [click here] said that they are cool with Crooked I, Royce The 5′9″ and Joell Ortiz but have a problem with Joe Budden.
Joe Budden stated during a live video chat [click here] that he wasn’t going to reply to Inspectah Deck’s diss [click here] and the “Fuck Joe Budden” at Rock The Bells DC because of the “politics” and because the rest of Slaughterhouse told him not to.
This whole situation might be causing some friction internally within the camp. After the Rock The Bells Chicago and Toronto, before all of this, both Crooked I and Joe Budden released video blogs [click here & here] of backstage on the tour, promising more at the next stop; but that hasn’t happened with Rock The Bells DC where the beef really took off. No video blogs, no video interviews with reporters like at all the other stops, nothing. No JoeBuddenTVs, nada, all is quiet on the Slaughterhouse front. And what makes it even more strange is that they have an album to promote, promo was rolling at an all time high, the hype and momentum was there after “The One” video clip was released [click here], now nothing.
Hopefully everything is cool, I’d hate to see this bullshit break up one of the most promising groups in Hip-Hop history, but something seems to have changed. Maybe they are just distracted, maybe they are planning for something bigger, who knows. Like I said this is all rumors and speculation.
Stay tuned. Slaughterhouse album out August 11th on E1 (Koch).
Here is the footage of Inspectah Deck saying “Fuck Joe Budden” when he got on stage at Rock The Bells with Raekwon, right after Joe got off with Slaughterhouse. This is what set Joe off saying he wanted to find Deck and beat him up [click here].
What’s up with Raekwon talking the peace talk and then taking shots himself?

Rumor has flown around the radio waves and internet streets that Joe Budden and Raekwon got into some kind of altercation at Rock The Bells in D.C. today over the Joe Budden vs. Method Man turned Inspectah Deck beef they have brewing.
Raekwon hit his twitter pretty quick to clarify that nothing happened saying “All the rumors are false bout me and that kid there was no fight or altercation, a nigga had to clear that up.”
However reports from the concert are saying that Raekwon was joined on stage by RZA and Inspectah Deck, and before leaving the stage Deck let out a “Fuck Joe Budden.”
Budden was of course at Rock The Bells as Slaughterhouse is on the tour, and he quickly twittered a simple “Now, it’s on…” Putting to rest any questions whether he’d respond to Deck’s diss [click here to listen]. And expect the reply soon considering Joe says “It looks like I’m just driving home…. I’m really writing…”
I suspect video of all of this will hit the net shortly so stay tuned to StreetHop.com.
Joe Budden spoke to Jessie Maguire about Inspectah Deck’s diss [click here]. He pretty much says that he has squashed the initial Method Man situation, tried to speak to him about it, already spoke to Raekwon and Busta Rhymes, and now Deck has come out of no where.
Will Joe respond? Joe says “I’ll see what happens when I get in the booth.”

Inspectah Deck comes through to defend Method Man, but not before Joe Budden threw out the challenge [click here].
It’s solid. But really, I don’t see why he had to include shots at Slaughterhouse in there. I really don’t think Deck wants to go up against the whole ‘House, but maybe Wu-Tang does? The reply is going to be hot, no doubt, and we’ll see where it goes from there.

In the latest XXL & 50 Cent video series, Fif says that Method Man is the best MC in Wu Tang. Do you agree? Fire back in the comments.
Joe Budden recently publicly said he felt he was better than Method Man. Meth and some fans took offense, Joe stood up for his opinion, Meth dissed him on the radio, and now Joe has opened up about his feelings on the situation again. Somewhere along the way Busta Rhymes got involved and Joe speaks on him too.
All three rappers happen to have an album out to promote. Get it? Go cop them, digital or CD.

Redman’s album with his partner in rap (and smoke) Method Man, Blackout 2, has just hit stores this week and he’s already talking with NY magazine about part 3!
“Shit, I’ma tell you — we need to just do it anyways. Because we need to get that bread. I need that bread. Plus we need to keep it going — these windows in rap are not as open as they were in the nineties. You gonna hear another Blackout!, who knows when, but it’s coming.”
