According to initial reports, Roc was in a martial arts related accident last month and injured his spine. He had undergone two successful surgeries but died today due to complications.
I had the chance to meet Roc Raida a couple of times over the past few years, and he was always happy and so full of life. He was humble and nice and loved doing what he did best; DJing.
He will be missed by anyone who met and knew him and by all of his fans and the Hip-Hop community. He is survived by 3 daughters and a wife.
REST IN PEACE DJ ROC RAIDA
Busta Rhymes is set to drop another album just four months after releasing Back On My Bullshit. The new album is entitled The Chemo. Busta claims the album is already 80% finished. He explains the story behind the new album.
“It’s self-explanatory. We’re coming to kill the cancer in music. I ain’t trying to offend anybody. I think it’s real important that we keep — We gotta re-establish the understanding that the perspective of hip-hop is to make music that always felt undeniable and unprecedented and we set a standard. The Chemo album is one of them albums that feels like what hip-hop is supposed to feel like, not what it’s made out to be by the people in these positions at the executive level.”
No release date has been set.

In a recent interview with Myspace UK, Jay-Z revealed that he doesn’t listen to his album In My Lifetime Vol. 1. To be honest, neither do I, and I’d bet most fans don’t either. He admits the album failed because he was too focused on creating radio friendly songs.
He also talks about Biggie, their time in High School together along with Busta Rhymes, and reveals the last song he played for him before he passed. Hov also talks about the creative process behind his classic debut Reasonable Doubt and more.

He pretty much says that he has squashed the initial Method Man situation, tried to speak to him about it, already spoke to Raekwon and Busta Rhymes, and now Deck has come out of no where.
Will Joe respond? Joe says “I’ll see what happens when I get in the booth.”
Joe Budden recently publicly said he felt he was better than Method Man. Meth and some fans took offense, Joe stood up for his opinion, Meth dissed him on the radio, and now Joe has opened up about his feelings on the situation again. Somewhere along the way Busta Rhymes got involved and Joe speaks on him too.
All three rappers happen to have an album out to promote. Get it? Go cop them, digital or CD.
