Jay-Z’s “Forever Young” bares a striking resemblance to German rapper Bushido’s song “Für immer jung,” which was released in 2008 through Universal. Both songs sample Alphaville’s original, but the question remains, did Jay-Z get the idea from Bushido?

Bushido’s record label, Universal, previously sued EMI for copyright violation when MIMS album cover for Music Is My Savior copied the artwork for Bushido’s Deutschland Gib Mir Ein Mic.

Here’s the video for Bushido’s version, with Jay-Z’s after the jump.

a lot of artists sample the same tracks…it’s nothing new. jay’s flow isn’t even the same as this guy’s, and unless it translates to anything like jay’s, i see this as nothing more than a coincidence.

Jay Z bites everyone from Biggie to 2Pac to Snoop to E40 to Lil Wayne, so this news is surprising how?

  • Jimmy:

When you posted the news about Jay-Z releasing a video to this song I made a comment saying that Bushido made a song called “Für immer jung” before.
The comment got deleted and now the subject gets its own news … -.- THX A LOT

  • L1A:

maybe, maybe not, who knows. maybe he called him up and said he dug his song and would like to remake it. i don’t really care, i got all 3 songs
